Akismet is my new friend
The first thing that I wanted to do when I relaunched this blog was find a way to stop all the spam that my blog was getting. My designer suggested that I used akismet plugin and so I installed it. ( I think it comes standard with wordpress ). It works so great that I can’t believe I did not use it before. I am averaging about 20 comment spam posting per day and over 50 per day with all the blogs that I operate. Akismet blocks all of it. It’s so simple that once you install it the plugin does all the work for you. Another thing that I notice about wordpress blocks are, spam bots get to them real fast compare to other blogs services out there. If your blogs is getting some serious traffic then spammers will find you and the spam will get pretty crazy real fast.
If you are not using akismet, I think you should. Trust me it’s worth it. Unless you like those levitra and viagra comments…..who knows
